This program aims to provide the trainees to develop the necessary skills in Civil Engineering Construction Inspection in which they are prepared to work alongside with clients, contractors and subcontractors both on construction sites and in the laboratory or office. The trainee will become familiar with the Industry Standards, Methods and Quality Problems and solutions and develop knowledge of Inspection Investigation Methods and Skills. Program Covers all types of Civil Engineering Construction. The qualification adheres as closely as possible to the Saudi Skills Standards. The purpose of this program is to assure that the young Saudi’s meets national social and economic needs, in particular by ensuring that trainees entering the labor market have the skills, knowledge and competencies that employers demand. This will accelerate the progression of young Saudis into well-paid jobs and promising careers which is considered vital to the country’s future prosperity.

The qualification contains units that address three key areas of employability such as ability to manage own work, ability to work effectively as a member of a team, and ability to work professionally in a company. This three employability units cover the essential knowledge and understanding of how to work in an employment situation and will prepare the trainee for periods of work experience.
Consult appropriate personnel to ensure the work is coordinated effectively with others involved
Obtain the forms required to document work in accordance with established routines and procedures
Read and correctly interpret engineering publications and other documentation used when performing engineering duties, and extract required information, applying it appropriately to work activities
Formulate risk management plan for work including Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)
Monitor the effectiveness of the implemented quality control system
Ensure that information on the quality control activities is provided to the relevant people
Record findings and prepare report
Correlate information on construction relevant to the setting-out of the project
Make recommendations to the appropriate person(s) based on the information gained from the evaluation
Identify purpose and advantage of different types of drawings
Determine key features of plans, elevations and sections
Identify client requested variations to standard plans on drawings
Review request for inspection (RFI)
Review drawings, standards, speciation’s, and any other job mandatory related requirements
Ensure an inspection and test plan (ITP) is available which makes best use of the available resources, meets the task requirements and ensures safe, effective and efficient conduct of the tasks
Analyse and identify causes of failures, defects and non-compliance and the implications and consequences
Clarify and justify findings and explain clearly instances where and why accurate inspection and measurement has not been possible
Identify work which fails to meet the requirements and specified quality standards and advise on non-compliance
Inform decision makers regularly about significant variations in quality standards, program and safety implications, and suggest practical alternatives and actions they need to take
